Rep. Andrew Garbarino, who represents New York’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on social media this week addressing both Holocaust remembrance and recent tax relief measures affecting his constituents.
On April 14, Garbarino marked Yom HaShoah with a statement commemorating victims of the Holocaust and reaffirming a commitment to fight antisemitism. He wrote, “On Yom HaShoah, we honor the memory of the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust and all victims of Nazi persecution. We remember the lives lost and recommit ourselves to confronting antisemitism and hatred wherever it appears. We will never forget.”
The following day, April 15—Tax Day—Garbarino highlighted new tax relief initiatives for Long Island residents. In one post he stated, “Long Islanders are seeing real tax relief this year. Average NY savings: $4,079 SALT cap raised to $40K No tax on tips & overtime Expanded Child Tax Credit This is about helping you keep more of what you earn.” Later that day he encouraged followers to learn more about how these changes affect local families: “Long Islanders are seeing real relief this Tax Day.
