As the 2025-26 Legislative Session comes to a close, Assemblyman Joe DeStefano (R,C-Medford) has shared his reflections on the issues affecting his constituents. DeStefano emphasized his focus on public safety and affordability, which he identifies as key concerns for New Yorkers.

“Too many New Yorkers are feeling the squeeze of rising costs and are concerned about growing crime in their communities,” DeStefano stated. During this session, he prioritized supporting law enforcement, reducing the tax burden on working families, and opposing policies that increase living expenses and decrease security in New York.

Despite acknowledging that there is more work ahead, DeStefano expressed his dedication to finding practical solutions aimed at enhancing neighborhood safety and making the state more affordable for all residents. “While there’s still more work to be done, I remain committed to delivering common-sense solutions that make our neighborhoods safer and our state more affordable for everyone,” he concluded.
