Brayden Martino, a former standout from Smithtown High School East, took the mound for the Queens Royals as they lost 11-1 in an NCAA Division II contest against the Charlotte 49ers at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24.
The teams faced each other for the first time this season at Hayes Stadium.
Martino pitched one inning and struck out two batters.
The Royals are set to play their next game against the West Georgia Wolves on Friday, March 27, at The Stick Williams Dream Fields.
