Brookhaven Town officials have announced the completion of a paving project in Shirley, New York. The work, which cost approximately $400,000, focused on resurfacing Precision Drive and Ramsey Road. These roads are located just south of the Long Island Expressway and east of William Floyd Parkway.
Before paving began, crews inspected drainage systems and replaced damaged concrete sidewalks, aprons, and curbing. The area serves an industrial park that experiences significant truck traffic due to the nearby Amazon hub.
“The paving of Precision Drive and Ramsey Road in front of the Amazon hub in Shirley buttoned up that industrial park nicely, as we were able to resurface the balance of the roadways that we began paving last year,” said Brookhaven Highway Superintendent Daniel Losquadro. “Those roadways see an inordinate amount of traffic just from the Amazon trucks coming in and out of that facility alone.”
Councilman Michael Loguercio praised the department’s work. “As always, Highway Superintendent Losquadro and his team did a wonderful job, especially on a road that has such high truck traffic. Thank you to the entire department for another job extremely well done!”
