Supervisor Daniel J. Panico has announced the annual INTERFACE Back to School Drive, organized by the Brookhaven Town Department of General Service’s Youth Bureau Division. This year’s drive will run from July 28 through August 22, providing essential school supplies for students from kindergarten through 12th grade.

“Each year, this program provides essential school supplies to children across Brookhaven,” said Supervisor Panico. “Last year alone, more than 1,500 students received support thanks to the generosity of our residents, businesses, and Youth Bureau staff. Their dedication makes a lasting difference in the lives of local families.”

The community is encouraged to donate items such as pens, pencils, calculators, binders, notebooks, rulers, glue, loose-leaf paper, crayons, book covers, backpacks and gift cards. Donations can be dropped off at several locations including Modular Devices in Shirley and All For You Hair Salon in Holtsville.

INTERFACE is a collaborative effort between individuals and organizations within Brookhaven to provide assistance to those in need. The partnership includes around 100 corporations and community organizations dedicated to addressing social issues.

For further information about the INTERFACE Program or donation details, interested parties can visit the Youth Bureau’s Community Programs page or contact them at 631-451-8026.
