Brookhaven launches free job readiness classes for residents ahead of annual job fair

The Brookhaven Division of Economic Development has announced a free Job Readiness Program aimed at helping local job seekers improve their employment prospects. The program consists of three classes, each lasting three hours, scheduled for May 16, May 23, and May 30 at 5:30 p.m. in the Media Room on the second floor of Brookhaven Town Hall.

John Coverdale, president of the Center for Workplace Solutions, Inc., will lead the sessions. Coverdale is described as “a senior level, high-impact business management executive specializing in human resource management, labor and employee relations, higher education and organizational consulting.”

Preference for registration will be given to veterans. The program is open only to residents of Brookhaven. Those interested can register by calling 631-451-6563.

Two weeks after the final class, on June 13, the Division of Economic Development and the Brookhaven Business Advisory Council will host the eighth annual Job Fair at Town Hall. This event will provide job hunters with opportunities to meet representatives from companies seeking qualified candidates for various positions.
