House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Andrew R. Garbarino (R-NY) has formally requested testimony from leaders of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) for an upcoming full committee hearing in Washington, D.C.
Chairman Garbarino asked ICE Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Director Todd Lyons, CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott, and USCIS Director Joseph Edlow to appear before the committee. The purpose of the hearing is to conduct oversight of these agencies and assess their efforts in protecting national security.
“As chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, my top priority remains keeping Americans safe and ensuring the Department of Homeland Security can accomplish its core mission,” Chairman Garbarino said. “I take my oversight duties for the department seriously, and Congress has an important responsibility to ensure the safety of law enforcement and the people they serve and protect. I am committed to ensuring ICE, CBP, and USCIS are effectively using the historic resources provided through reconciliation to strengthen public safety, and I look forward to each of these agencies testifying before the Committee.”
In letters sent to agency officials, Chairman Garbarino wrote: “On January 15, 2026, Committee on Homeland Security (Committee) staff invited you to testify at a hearing regarding oversight of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) components charged with border security and immigration enforcement. Today, I am formally memorializing this previous invitation.”
Earlier this week, the committee held a separate hearing that included testimony from Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Acting Director Dr. Madhu Gottumukkala, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Acting Administrator Ha Nguyen McNeill, and Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) Under Secretary Pedro Allende.
