The Suffolk County Police Department will hold “National Night Out” on Tuesday, August 5, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at William Floyd High School. The event will take place on the west side of the campus, behind Nathaniel Woodhull Elementary School.

National Night Out is part of a countrywide effort aimed at reducing crime through community events that encourage positive interactions between residents and law enforcement. The event is free to attend and open to all members of the community.

Organizers plan several activities for attendees, including free food provided by Applebee’s of Shirley, child identification kits, a bounce house, and tours of police and emergency medical services vehicles.

“This event is sponsored by the Suffolk County Police Department 7th Precinct, the Mastics-Moriches-Shirley Community Library, Applebee’s Grill + Bar and more!”
