On May 24th, Councilwoman Jane Bonner collaborated with the Coastal Steward for the Great Brookhaven Cleanup. The event took place at the beach near Landing Road in Miller Place. Together with Treasurer Mark Campo and a group of volunteers, Councilwoman Bonner participated in removing trash and debris from the shoreline to protect the local marine ecosystem.

Councilwoman Bonner stated, “This beach is a natural treasure, and it’s our responsibility to keep it clean and safe.” She expressed gratitude towards the Coastal Steward and volunteers for their efforts, emphasizing that such initiatives demonstrate community care for the environment.

The cleanup highlighted the significance of maintaining clean waterfronts, crucial for marine wildlife, recreation, and Long Island’s coastal health. The Coastal Steward continues its mission to protect local shorelines through volunteer cleanups and educational outreach.
