Farmingville, NY – On January 20, Councilwoman Jane Bonner presided over the swearing-in ceremony for the Mount Sinai Senior Club board at the Rose Caracappa Senior Center. During the event, Bonner administered the oath to board members and presented each with a certificate recognizing their service to the senior community.

Those sworn in included Kathy Henn (Treasurer), Lucy Competello (Corresponding Secretary), Ellen Reichert (1st Vice President), Angela Chapman (2nd Vice President), and Roseanne Serrone (President). Outgoing treasurer Frank Dagostino was also recognized for his contributions.

Councilwoman Bonner acknowledged the efforts of both the Senior Citizen Division and club leaders. She thanked Dagostino for his work and stated, “Our senior clubs are a vital part of the Town of Brookhaven, and the Mount Sinai Senior Club is a wonderful example of community and service. I am grateful to the Mount Sinai Senior Club board for their dedication and service. These clubs provide meaningful opportunities for our seniors to stay active, engaged, and connected.”

The Mount Sinai Senior Club is one of 13 such organizations sponsored by Brookhaven Town. The clubs aim to foster engagement, enrichment, and connection among older adults in the area. Each club provides educational, recreational, and volunteer activities led by trained staff from the Senior Citizen Division.

Brookhaven offers municipal services designed to support residents’ well-being through programs like these senior clubs as well as other initiatives such as nature preserves and youth programs (official website).
