Dress for Success Brookhaven recently received a donation of professional women’s attire from the Wonder Women of Dime, the Women’s Affinity Group at Dime Community Bank. The group focuses on supporting women within their organization and in the communities they serve.
Dress for Success Brookhaven works to help women achieve economic independence by providing professional clothing, support networks, and career development resources. Since its founding in 1999 with assistance from the Town of Brookhaven, the Division of Women’s Services, and more than 50 volunteers, it has supported over 6,000 women as they pursue self-sufficiency.
Brookhaven Town Supervisor Daniel J. Panico said, “We are very grateful for this wonderful donation from Dime Community Bank, and for all the support Dress for Success Brookhaven receives from kind-hearted residents and local businesses. Without these donations, this vital program would not be able to flourish or fulfill its mission of helping unemployed and underemployed women achieve economic independence.”
The organization is accepting donations of new and gently used business attire and accessories such as handbags, scarves, and jewelry. Items can be dropped off at Brookhaven Town Hall at 1 Independence Hill in Farmingville on Mondays between 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. For more information, contact Dress for Success Brookhaven at 631-451-9127.
