The Harlem Wizards will return to William Floyd High School on January 23 for an event featuring basketball skills, comedy, and community participation. The event is scheduled in the school’s west gym, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and activities beginning at 7 p.m.
Students and staff from John S. Hobart Elementary School, Tangier Smith Elementary School, and the William Floyd Learning Center are set to play against the Wizards in a game that includes trick shots and audience engagement. The evening will also feature a “Wiz Kids” warm-up, contests, giveaways, slam dunks, and will conclude with the Wizards’ dance party.
Faculty rosters from each participating school have been announced. For Hobart: Mr. Virgona, Mr. Abbene, Mr. Diaz, Ms. Fehmel, Ms. Mastrup, Ms. Prestia, Mr. Roldan, Mrs. Spencer, Mrs. Wallace, Mr. Young and coach Mr. Carey; for Tangier Smith: Mr. Ciliotta, Mr. Slinkosky, Mr. Melandro, Ms. Romero, Mr. Paniccia, Mr. Scudero, Mr. Rode, Mr. Dechiaro, Mrs. Clark and Mr. Germer; for the William Floyd Learning Center: Mr. Bretton, Mrs. Prestia, Ms. Gonzalez, Mr. Delince, Mr. Kimmerling and Mr. Cook.
Tickets remain available in several categories: general admission is $20 (children three years old or younger are free), special reserved seating is $35 per student or adult ticket holder; courtside plus tickets are $50 with additional perks included for both students and adults—a service charge of $1.99 applies per ticket at checkout.
A portion of proceeds from ticket sales will benefit each school’s Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). Souvenirs and merchandise will be sold during the event.
