Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro and Councilman Neil Foley have announced the completion of resurfacing work on Hospital Road in East Patchogue, New York. The project aimed to minimize disruption by completing the paving overnight, ensuring access for motorists and emergency vehicles to NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk.
The resurfacing covered sections from County Road 99 to Fish Thicket Road and from County Road 101 to Pondview Drive. Additionally, Sipp Avenue and part of the Sunrise Highway North Service Road were included in this project. The total cost amounted to $614,000.
Superintendent Losquadro highlighted the importance of this project following the completion of construction on the Hospital Road Bridge last year. He stated, “We were anxiously awaiting the completion of construction on the long-awaited rebuild of the Hospital Road Bridge so we could resurface these surrounding roadways.” He emphasized that “Hospital Road sees a tremendous amount of traffic, as more than 12,000 vehicles cross over Hospital Bridge daily, including a dozen ambulance and fire agencies.”
Councilman Foley underscored the significance of Hospital Road for residents and emergency services due to its proximity to NYU Langone Hospital. He expressed satisfaction with how efficiently the work was completed: “I’m proud that we were able to get this work done efficiently and with minimal disruption to the community.”
