As Nurses Week is celebrated, Huntington Hospital reflects on the dedication and impact of its nursing staff. The hospital’s 800 nurses are praised for their commitment to providing care that treats patients like family, a standard encapsulated in the hospital’s motto: “The right care, every touch, every time.”

Nurses at Huntington Hospital are recognized not only for their bedside manner but also for their broader contributions to patient care. Their efforts have helped the hospital earn high ratings from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), highlighting the quality and safety of its services.

Huntington Hospital has achieved Magnet recognition five times, an honor awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center for nursing excellence. This achievement underscores the supportive professional environment fostered within the hospital, characterized by evidence-based care and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Recently, U.S. News & World Report ranked Huntington Hospital among the nation’s best for delivering exceptional care across various specialties. This accolade reflects the clinical excellence and compassion demonstrated by its nurses daily.

Behind each award and positive patient experience is a nurse making a difference—whether by detecting subtle changes in a patient’s condition or mentoring new graduates. As expressed by Nick Fitterman, MD, president of Huntington Hospital, and Marie Mulligan, PhD, RN, vice president of nursing: “Thank you to the remarkable nurses of Huntington Hospital for your courage, your compassion, and your extraordinary service to our patients and community.”

Huntington Hospital remains committed to supporting its nurses as they continue to uphold high standards of care.
