Congressman Nick LaLota, representing New York’s 1st district, shared a series of messages on social media highlighting important occasions and legislative updates. Elected in 2023, LaLota continues to engage with his constituents through various platforms.
On May 7, 2025, Congressman LaLota expressed gratitude during Teacher Appreciation Week. He extended his appreciation to his wife Kaylie and all teachers in Suffolk County and across the nation. In his message, he stated: “Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to my amazing wife Kaylie and all the dedicated teachers in Suffolk County and across the country. Thank you for inspiring the next generation every day!”
Later that day, LaLota addressed concerns regarding the REAL ID Act. He informed citizens about changes in its implementation: ” Still Don’t Have a REAL ID? Don’t Panic. The REAL ID Act, passed in 2005 to enhance national security, was scheduled to take full effect today, May 7th—but DHS has modified the roll out to avoid travel disruptions.” He advised individuals to update their IDs promptly.
In another post on May 7th, Congressman LaLota recognized National Skilled Trades Day by acknowledging the contributions of tradespeople like electricians and plumbers. As Chair of the RMSP Labor Caucus, he emphasized support for policies empowering these workers: “Today is National Skilled Trades Day — a moment to recognize the electricians, plumbers, carpenters, operating engineers, and other hardworking tradespeople who keep America running strong.”
Nick LaLota was born in Bay Shore, New York in 1978 and currently resides in Amityville at age 44.
