Congressman Nick LaLota, representing New York’s 1st District since 2023, shared his thoughts and activities on social media recently. Known for succeeding Lee Zeldin in Congress, LaLota’s online presence offers insight into his political priorities and commitments.
On June 3, 2025, Congressman LaLota expressed his support for labor rights during a visit by Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer to Suffolk County. He emphasized the Republican commitment to both business growth and the welfare of American workers, stating “Today, I welcomed my good friend and Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer to Suffolk County. Her visit with Long Island labor leaders reflects the new Republican commitment to growing businesses AND supporting hardworking Americans with fair wages and safe conditions.”
Later that day, LaLota addressed the use of soft power in foreign policy through a critical lens. He argued against the allocation of funds to certain programs he deemed counterproductive, noting “Soft power has its place—but not when it funds ‘woke’ programs that waste taxpayer dollars, project weakness, and undermine America’s credibility abroad.”
In another post on June 3rd, LaLota voiced solidarity with families affected by an international hostage crisis dating back to October 7th nearly 20 months prior. He highlighted the importance of continued efforts towards securing releases: “I stand with the families of the October 7th hostages—lives forever changed nearly 20 months ago. Every release is a hard-won victory and a step toward reuniting every family. We must keep pushing until every hostage is home.”
Nick LaLota was born in Bay Shore, New York in 1978 and currently resides in Amityville at age 44.
