Congressman Nick LaLota, who represents New York’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared a series of posts on his social media account addressing public safety, border security, international funding priorities, and a birthday greeting to the Vice President.
On August 2, 2025, LaLota highlighted legislative efforts aimed at community safety and fiscal responsibility: “The Big Bill backs public safety, secures the border, and boosts Law Enforcement—protecting Long Island families and delivering more for Suffolk taxpayers.”
Later that day, he posted a message marking an occasion for a national leader: “Please join me in wishing @VP a happy birthday!” The post was published on August 2.
Addressing federal spending abroad on August 3, LaLota wrote: “The money the NIH does spend abroad should go toward helping our allies, not our adversaries.”
Nick LaLota has served as the representative for New York’s 1st district since replacing Lee Zeldin in 2023. Born in Bay Shore in 1978 and currently residing in Amityville at age 44, LaLota continues to address issues relevant to his constituents through both legislative action and public statements.
