Congressman Nick LaLota, who represents New York’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, has recently addressed several policy issues on his social media accounts.
On July 16, 2025, LaLota criticized recent actions by state lawmakers, stating, ” While I work to cut taxes and lower costs, Albany Democrats are doing the opposite. Their latest bill shifts gas line costs to homeowners—basically a natural gas ban. I join Senator @AnthonyHPalumbo, @senatormattera, @SenDeanMurray, and the NYS Republican Conference in urging https://t.co/N9jrsEJiuA”.
The following day, on July 17, he commented on U.S. foreign policy regarding Iran: “Iran backs terror, funds Hamas, and spreads violence. We must keep max diplomatic and economic pressure until terror ends, hostages are freed, and Hamas stops targeting Israel. Appeasement won’t work—strength will.”
Later that same day, LaLota announced results related to tax relief for residents of his district: “The results are in:
SALT relief for households earning up to $500K
Starts with 2025 taxes
A Long Island family making $250K will keep nearly $5K more yearly thanks to the SALT fix in OBBB.”
Nick LaLota began serving as a member of Congress for New York’s 1st district in 2023 after succeeding Lee Zeldin. He was born in Bay Shore, New York in 1978 and currently resides in Amityville.
