Congressman Nick LaLota, who represents New York’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed a range of national issues on his official social media account. His posts highlighted concerns over fair trade, support for small businesses, and foreign policy toward Iran.
On July 30, 2025, LaLota emphasized the importance of fair international trade practices and expressed concern about competition from China. He stated, “America’s economic security depends on fair trade. We must keep pushing back on countries like China that rig the rules and undercut U.S. workers.”
Later that day, LaLota acknowledged the anniversary of the Small Business Administration (SBA) and reiterated his support for entrepreneurs in his district. In a post published at 21:54 UTC, he wrote, ” Happy birthday to @SBAgov—supporting small businesses since 1953! Proud to back Long Island entrepreneurs via @HouseSmallBiz & the One Big Bill with key pro-small biz wins.”
Addressing foreign policy concerns on July 31, 2025, LaLota commented on Iran’s activities in the Middle East. He asserted, “The U.S. must keep up pressure on Iran until they stop funding terror groups like Hamas and all hostages are freed. Anything less is unacceptable.”
Nick LaLota has served as the congressional representative for New York’s 1st District since replacing Lee Zeldin in 2023. Born in Bay Shore in 1978 and currently residing in Amityville at age 44, LaLota continues to advocate for economic security and local business interests while taking firm stances on international affairs.
