Congressman Nick LaLota, who has been serving New York’s 1st District since 2023 after replacing Lee Zeldin, shared several thoughts on social media over the weekend. The congressman from Amityville addressed topics ranging from personal greetings to political statements.
On June 14, Congressman LaLota extended a birthday greeting to former President Donald Trump. In his tweet, he stated: “Happy Birthday, President Trump—from Kaylie and me! Wishing you strength as you fight to secure the border, revive the economy, and restore America’s leadership.”
Later that evening, LaLota commented on healthcare policy through another tweet. He advised against accepting claims made by special interests regarding Medicaid spending under a new legislative proposal. He wrote: “Don’t buy the spin. Special interests are falsely claiming the One Big Beautiful Bill cuts Medicaid—but the truth is, Medicaid spending will go up under the bill.”
On June 15, Congressman LaLota turned his attention to Father’s Day with a message of celebration. In his post, he expressed well wishes for fellow fathers: “From one proud dad of three incredible daughters—wishing a very Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there!”
Nick LaLota was born in Bay Shore, New York in 1978 and is currently 44 years old.
