Congressman Nick LaLota, who represents New York’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to discuss legislative priorities and voice opinions on national issues.
On August 30, 2025, LaLota shared details about a recent visit with a local environmental group, stating: “Great visit with the Peconic Estuary Partnership to see projects restoring one of LI’s treasures. The following day, August 31, he commented on economic policy and governance principles: “America is a constitutional republic built on free enterprise. A turn toward socialism would threaten our economy—and our way of life.”

Nick LaLota has served as the representative for New York’s 1st congressional district since 2023, succeeding Lee Zeldin. He was born in Bay Shore, New York in 1978 and currently resides in Amityville.
