Congressman Nick LaLota, representing New York’s 1st district since 2023, shared a series of tweets highlighting legislative efforts and his stances on recent policies. LaLota succeeded Lee Zeldin in Congress and has been vocal about various issues affecting his constituents.
On July 6, 2025, Congressman LaLota emphasized the benefits of the OBBB, stating “The OBBB delivers what working families actually need: lower taxes, more take-home pay, expanded savings options, and real accountability in government programs. It’s a major step forward.”
Later that day, he addressed immigration enforcement policies with another tweet at 21:12 UTC. He expressed his position against certain sanctuary policies by stating “I voted to stop D.C. from blocking federal immigration enforcement or hiding behind reckless sanctuary policies. Our capital should never be a sanctuary for lawlessness.”
On July 7, 2025, LaLota discussed enhancements to tax credits and savings plans in support of families and workers. He tweeted “We boosted the Child Tax Credit, expanded 529s to cover job training, and created newborn and childcare savings accounts. The OBBB is pro-family, pro-worker, and pro-growth.”
Nick LaLota was born in Bay Shore, New York in 1978 and currently resides in Amityville at age 44.
