Congressman Nick LaLota, who represents New York’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed a range of policy issues and commemorative events through his social media posts.
On August 27, 2025, LaLota commented on recent changes to Medicaid, stating: “The old Medicaid system was unsustainable. GOP-led reforms—like work requirements for able-bodied adults—help preserve it for seniors, pregnant women, people with disabilities, and those who truly need it.”
Two days later, on August 29, he recognized the service of Marine Corps Reserve members by posting: “Since 1916, the Marine Corps Reserve has answered the call with courage & dedication. To all who serve & have served: thank you for defending our freedoms. Semper Fi! https://t.co/CIeNgEdCHb”
On August 30, LaLota highlighted legislative measures aimed at benefiting his constituents in Long Island: “The Big Bill delivers for Long Island: Social Security tax cuts for seniors Protects Medicaid & SNAP Quadruples SALT cap to $40K”
Nick LaLota has represented New York’s 1st District since replacing Lee Zeldin in 2023. Born in Bay Shore in 1978 and currently residing in Amityville, LaLota continues to use his platform to address local and national concerns while acknowledging military service and advocating policy reforms.
