Congressman Nick LaLota, who represents New York’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed several issues in a series of posts on his official social media account.
On July 24, 2025, LaLota expressed support for law enforcement after a violent incident in Suffolk County. He stated, “Praying for the Suffolk County officer shot in the face while serving a murder warrant. Grateful he’s expected to recover. A powerful reminder of the daily risks our officers face. We must never take their service for granted. https://t.co/TF5mwPtf6K”.
Later that day, he highlighted changes to federal tax policy impacting local families: “Thanks to the new SALT cap I secured, a family earning $150K and paying $10K in property taxes could get an extra $1,839 back when they file in 2026.”
On July 25, 2025, LaLota reflected on his work in Congress and recognition from external organizations: “I came to Congress to deliver results and independent ranking organizations have taken note, naming me one of the most effective members. Proud to keep up the fight every day. https://t.co/ECJirBQxNI”
