Congressman Nick LaLota, who represents New York’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, has recently shared updates on his work and priorities through a series of posts on social media.
On September 2, 2025, LaLota highlighted his visit to a local veterans’ facility: “Visited the Northport VA’s new ER wing under construction. I made clear: no Veteran should ever be turned away or see slowed care. As a Navy Veteran, I’ll always fight for the care they earned. “
Later that day, he emphasized his political approach and commitment to bipartisanship in Congress: “I’m a proud commonsense conservative—focused on affordability, defense, freedom & accountability. I’ll work with anyone to get results. Ranked more bipartisan than 85% of Congress, I’m delivering for Long Island.”
On September 3, LaLota congratulated Andrea Goldsmith on her new role at Stony Brook University: “Congrats to Stony Brook’s new President, Andrea Goldsmith! Great to meet her at Brookhaven Lab after connecting by phone. I’m confident she’ll keep Stony Brook driving jobs, growth & innovation—and I look forward to working with her to keep Suffolk competitive.”
Nick LaLota has served as the representative for New York’s 1st district since 2023 after succeeding Lee Zeldin. He was born in Bay Shore, New York in 1978 and currently resides in Amityville.
