Congressman Nick LaLota, representing New York’s 1st District, has recently expressed concerns on a range of issues through social media. In a series of posts, he addressed matters from AI phone scams to legislative reforms and acts of violence.
On June 1, 2025, Congressman LaLota expressed his deep concern about AI phone scams targeting seniors. He stated that he had asked Brendan Carr from the FCC during a recent hearing how Congress could assist the FCC in addressing this growing threat.
The following day, June 2, 2025, LaLota highlighted the challenges small businesses face with government contracts, noting that complex language often necessitates legal assistance. He mentioned his bipartisan Plain Language in Contracting Act as a solution to simplify and make the process more accessible. This act is up for a vote in the House.
Also on June 2, 2025, Congressman LaLota condemned antisemitic violence in Colorado, emphasizing that “justice must be served” and calling for leaders to speak out against such hatred. He stressed that silence is not an option when it comes to confronting these issues.
Nick LaLota has been serving in Congress since 2023 after succeeding Lee Zeldin. Born in Bay Shore, New York in 1978 and currently residing in Amityville, LaLota continues to advocate for his constituents through legislative efforts and public statements.
