Congressman Nick LaLota, who represents New York’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on various community and personal events through his social media platform. LaLota has been serving in this capacity since 2023, following his predecessor Lee Zeldin.
On May 10, 2025, Congressman LaLota acknowledged the efforts of participants in a fundraising event despite challenging weather conditions. He noted that “A chilly, wet day didn’t stop walkers, joggers & runners from raising $28,570 for the Greenport FD at the 19th Annual John May Mile & 5K.” He expressed gratitude towards Peconic Landing and honored Thomas E. Murray Jr. for his extensive community service.
The following day, May 11, 2025, LaLota extended Mother’s Day wishes to several important women in his life. In his message he stated: “Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible moms out there—especially to my selfless mom, my awesome mother-in-law, and my rockstar wife.” He expressed gratitude for their contributions every day.
Later on May 11th, Congressman LaLota reflected on a recent visit with students from Our Lady of the Hamptons during their trip to Washington D.C. He remarked: “Great time last week in DC with students from Our Lady of the Hamptons! Their energy and enthusiasm were a great reminder of why I fight every day for Long Island’s future.”
Nick LaLota was born in Bay Shore, New York in 1978 and currently resides in Amityville at age 44.
