Congressman Nick LaLota, who represents New York’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on legislative action and local achievements through a series of posts between April 30 and May 1, 2026.
On April 30, LaLota announced his support for major agricultural legislation: “Today, I voted to pass H.R. 7567 — the bipartisan Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026, aka “the farm bill.” The bill expands credit access for producers, modernizes rural development, and protects American farmland from foreign ownership. One amendment I voted” (April 30, 2026).
A day later, he recognized two Naval Academy athletes: “Congratulations to the United States Naval Academy’s Landon Robinson and Eli Heidenreich. For the first time since 1956 and just the second time in program history, two Midshipmen were selected in the same NFL Draft, an incredible achievement that reflects the excellence and” (May 1, 2026).
Later on May 1, LaLota highlighted American Jewish Heritage Month by reflecting on his personal experiences: “American Jewish Heritage Month is an opportunity to honor the rich history, culture, and enduring spirit of the Jewish people, a legacy woven into the fabric of our nation. My 2023 visit to Israel deepened that appreciation. Walking ancient sites and seeing firsthand the” (May 1, 2026).
Nick LaLota has served as a member of Congress representing New York’s 1st District since replacing Lee Zeldin in 2023. Born in Bay Shore in 1978 and currently residing in Amityville at age 44, LaLota continues to provide legislative updates and community recognition via social media.
