Three libraries in the Huntington and Smithtown area will receive over $195,000 in state funding for facility improvements, according to an announcement from Assemblyman Keith Brown (R,C–Northport). The funds come from the New York State Aid for Library Construction Program and are intended to support building upgrades, energy-efficiency projects, and interior renovations.
“Our libraries are vital community institutions that serve residents of all ages, from students and families to seniors,” said Brown. “This funding will help modernize facilities, improve reliability and ensure these libraries remain welcoming, functional spaces for years to come.”
Brown expressed gratitude to library administrators, trustees, staff, and the New York State Library for their roles in securing the funding and providing technical assistance during the application process.
“These projects represent smart investments in public infrastructure that improve safety, efficiency and access for our community,” Brown added. “I’m proud to support funding that strengthens our libraries and delivers real value for local taxpayers.”
The initiative is part of ongoing efforts by state officials to invest in public resources that benefit a wide range of residents.
