Stony Brook alumnus Guru Madhavan named honorary fellow by UK Royal Academy

Guru Madhavan, a graduate of Stony Brook University with an MS earned in 2002 and a PhD, has been admitted as the first international honorary fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in the United Kingdom. This recognition follows his career in leadership, innovation, and philanthropy within engineering. Madhavan is one of 74 engineers and innovators elected to the academy in 2025.

Madhavan has played roles in national engineering initiatives and is known for mentoring students and supporting programs at Stony Brook University. His ongoing relationship with the university includes volunteer service and philanthropic contributions.
