Of the 5,946 people living in Southold in 2020, 49.6 percent (2,948) were women and 50.4 percent (2,998) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Suffolk Reporter.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by 194. In the 65 and over age range, there were 896 females and 845 males.
