When it comes to being safe, the Suffolk County Police Department firmly believes preparation is key.
SCPD joined multiple agencies including the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office and NYPD for an all-hazards training seminar at BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha in Melville. SCPD Chief of Patrol Gerard Hardy and Second Precinct Inspector William Scrima joined more than 100 people for the latest installment of the SCPD Safety in the Sanctuary program, a presentation specifically tailored to meet the unique challenges faced by houses of worship.
The presentation by the SCPD Homeland Security and Criminal Intelligence Bureau is one of many safety initiatives within the SCPD and works to protect individuals in the event of an emergency situation.
