Suffolk County is set to host the 2024 Gospel Health Fest in honor of Minority Health Month. The event will take place on April 20, 2024, at the Van Nostrand Theatre on the Suffolk County Community College Grant Campus in Brentwood, NY. The fest, organized by the county’s Office of Minority Health and Suffolk County Community College, aims to promote health awareness and education among residents.

The fest will showcase the county’s top Gospel choirs and dance ministries, offering a unique blend of music and health advocacy. Health education and screenings will be provided, with experts on hand to address questions and stress the importance of disease prevention and early detection.

Dr. Pigott, Suffolk County’s Health Commissioner, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “We encourage all residents who love music and who want to improve their lives and their health to join us in what promises to be an inspirational and spiritually uplifting event.” Dr. Pigott, who has a history of championing minority health causes, initiated the first Gospel Health Fest in 2010, forging strong ties with local community groups.

The 2024 Gospel Health Fest will feature performances by renowned groups such as New Love Caravan, United in Christ Church, Serious Voice, Corona Male Quartet, and Eugenia Woods Dance. The event is made possible through the support of sponsors including Catholic Health Good Samaritan University Hospital, Sun River Health, The Witness Project of Long Island, Town of Babylon, and Suffolk Community College & College Wide Office of Multicultural Affairs.
