Terri Alessi-Miceli, a prominent advocate for Long Island businesses, has made significant contributions to the growth and prosperity of countless enterprises through her role at HIA-LI. This organization is a well-known representative for local businesses and a potent driver of regional development.
For over four decades, HIA-LI has offered a platform for business leaders to address crucial issues affecting Long Island, including transportation, workforce development, and affordable living. The organization's headquarters are located in the Long Island Innovation Park at Hauppauge. This park is one of the largest in the Northeast and serves as a significant economic hub with more than 55,000 employees and 1,300 companies generating over $13 billion in economic output.
Ms. Alessi-Miceli currently serves on the board of Discover LI, the region’s official tourism organization. She has previously served on the boards of the Long Island Regional Planning Council and the Suffolk County Girl Scout Council. Her expertise in organizational change and motivation has been recognized by various publications such as Newsday, Networking Magazine, Smithtown News, and Long Island Business News. She has also appeared on News 12’s “Jobline” as an expert commentator.
In recognition of her humanitarian efforts with HIA-LI's partnership with Long Island Cares and her personal work with Dress for Success program, Ms. Alessi-Miceli was honored with the Harry Chapin Humanitarian Award. Her contributions have also earned her multiple accolades from Long Island Business News (LIBN), including being named twice as one of LIBN’s Top 50 Women Professionals on Long Island which led to her induction into their Hall of Fame. She was also a recipient of LIBN’s Top CEO Award and its 2022 “Power List.” Other recognitions include being named one of Long Island’s “Top Power Women” by Long Island Press and receiving an “Above & Beyond Innovators Award” from City & State Magazine.
In addition to her professional commitments, Ms. Alessi-Miceli is also involved in community service, serving as a religion schoolteacher and working with the Big Brother/Big Sisters organization. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Adelphi University.
Ms. Alessi-Miceli lives in Smithtown with her husband, Joe, and their son, Nicholas.
