A Selden man has been found guilty by a jury for sexually abusing three of his children over a period of thirteen years. The Suffolk County District Attorney, Raymond A. Tierney, announced the conviction today. The defendant, aged 68, was charged with Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the First Degree and other related offenses.

District Attorney Tierney stated, "No child should ever be subjected to the horrors of sexual abuse, let alone by their parent. I commend the victims for their bravery in testifying against their abuser, and I thank the jury for their careful review of the evidence. My office will always do everything within its power to seek justice for all victims of sexual abuse."

The trial revealed that between 1997 and 2010, the defendant abused his children, who were then aged between seven and 13 years old. Fearful of being separated from their family, they did not report the abuse until reaching adulthood.

On November 25, 2024, the jury found him guilty on three counts of Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the First Degree—classified as Class B violent felonies—and one count of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree—a Class D violent felony. He faces up to 57 years in prison at sentencing and will be required to register as a sex offender.

The sentencing is scheduled for January 7, 2025. The defendant is represented by Ian Fitzgerald and Chase Brown.
