Rep. Nick LaLota, representing Suffolk County, announced his support for H.R. 8371, the Senator Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act. This bipartisan bill aims to reform the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and improve services for veterans transitioning back into civilian life as well as those who have already transitioned.
"As a Navy Veteran, I was proud to support the Senator Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act," stated LaLota. "This legislation honors our promise to the men and women who served by expanding access to the care and benefits they have earned."
The act includes various provisions designed to modernize healthcare delivery, enhance job training opportunities, address veteran homelessness, streamline processes for the GI Bill, increase transparency at the VA, and provide support for military families.
"Our Veterans deserve nothing less than modern, effective healthcare and support systems tailored to their unique needs," LaLota added. "I will continue to work in Congress to ensure we keep our commitment to those who have sacrificed so much for our nation."
