Throughout December, the Smithtown Fire Department conducted a drive to assist families in need during the holiday season. The department collected toys and food at its headquarters located at 100 Elm Ave in Smithtown. The initiative concluded during the Christmas parade on December 14th, where donations of toys and food were still being accepted.
The collection resulted in approximately 10 cases of food and 25 toys. The toys were donated to St. Patrick's Church Parish Outreach for distribution to families in need within Smithtown. Meanwhile, the collected food was given to the Smithtown Food Pantry.
