The Smithtown FD Explorers, in partnership with the Smithtown Food Pantry, are organizing an initiative to prepare complete Thanksgiving dinners for families in need. They have announced a call for donations to fill boxes with various food items.

The requested items include cans of vegetables, boxes of instant potatoes, cans of cranberry sauce, canned yams, canned fruit, juice, turkey gravy, and mixes for cake or brownies or corn muffins. While donors are encouraged to add extras such as candy bags, hot chocolate, and cookies, they are reminded not to donate perishable goods. The pantry will supply the turkeys and cooking pans.

Donations should be delivered by November 5th at the Smithtown FD Headquarters located at 100 Elm Ave., Smithtown, NY 11787. Contributors can use the main entrance lobby where designated bins will be available.

For further details regarding this initiative, individuals may reach out via email at firebug109@aol.com.

Thanksgiving blessings to you and your family!
