The William Floyd High School Automotive Technology Academy has received a significant contribution from the Haugland Group LLC. The company donated two 2012 Dodge 1500 Ram trucks to the academy, which is part of the school's Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. This donation follows a previous contribution of a 2017 Dodge 1500 Ram truck over the past year.
Students at the academy will utilize these vehicles to gain hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, covering areas such as tune-ups, oil changes, engine and transmission repair. "Special thanks to the Haugland Group LLC," stated representatives from William Floyd School District, acknowledging their ongoing partnership which includes not only vehicle donations but also job shadowing opportunities, headquarters visits, networking events, and trips to Citi Field.
The Automotive Technology Program at William Floyd High School spans two years and offers students both theoretical knowledge and practical skills relevant to the automobile repair industry.
