William Floyd Elementary School has outlined its approach to supporting student achievement through its Title I program. The school emphasizes the importance of collaboration between parents and the school community, stating that active participation from both sides leads to better outcomes for students.

According to the school, parents are seen as key contributors to their children’s development. The school’s objective is to help parents understand the New York State Common Core Standards in literacy and mathematics, along with other curriculum areas taught from kindergarten through fifth grade.

The partnership between home and school is fostered by offering various opportunities for parents to be involved in their child’s education. Details about these opportunities are available in documents such as the WF Elementary Title I Compact, WF Elementary Title I Policy, and the WF Elementary Schoolwide Plan.

“Our goal is to provide assistance to parents in understanding NYS Common Core Standards in Literacy and Mathematics as well as other curriculum that Kindergarten – 5th students will be taught.  Our school/home partnership is accomplished by providing the following opportunities for parents to influence their child’s education,” a statement from William Floyd Elementary School reads.
