William Floyd High School senior Bella Humberstone has been chosen for the Parrish Art Museum’s ARTscope Teen Council, an 18-week paid internship. The program allows students to learn about museum careers and participate in the daily operations of the institution.

During her internship, Humberstone will work with various museum departments, learn about their roles, and take part in multiple projects. She will also have opportunities to attend meetings and contribute to museum initiatives outside of regular sessions. The program includes trips to other art facilities, providing further exposure to the field and chances to connect with fellow council members.

Humberstone is recognized as a talented student-artist whose work has appeared in several exhibitions, including the 2025 Suffolk County Art Leaders Association All-County and Senior Scholarship Show.

Theresa Bianco, chairperson of William Floyd Fine Arts, praised Humberstone’s abilities: “I am not surprised Bella was chosen for this program because she embodies what being a true role model is for her peers,” said Mrs. Bianco. “She will bring a fresh point of view to the Parrish Art Museum and the educators there, and learn the skills that go into making gallery and museum spaces run.”

Humberstone plans to study illustration after graduation but has not yet decided on a college. She attended William Floyd schools from kindergarten through high school.
