Three performance groups from William Floyd Middle School, comprising 140 student-musicians, recently participated in the Long Island Music Festival (LIMF) at Suffolk County Community College’s Brentwood Campus. These groups achieved a “Superior” rating, which is the highest accolade awarded at the festival.

The LIMF aims to foster a positive learning environment by bringing together students and adjudicators. Participants perform in front of judges and also engage in clinics post-performance.

The groups that earned the top score include:

– 8th Grade Band under the direction of Mrs. Dawn Conefry
– 8th Grade Orchestra led by Mrs. Amanda Gardner
– 7th & 8th Grade Mixed Chorus directed by Mrs. Debbie Tomko

These students and their directors are recognized for their exceptional performance.
