46 percent of applicants to Farmingdale State College were admitted for fall 2018

At Farmingdale State College, 77 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 57 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Farmingdale enrolled 9,970 students in fall 2018, including 9,916 in undergraduate and 54 in graduate programs, data shows. 11.6 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

98 percent of undergraduates are residents of New York, and 1 percent are residents of other states. 2 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (55 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (22 percent).

The school admitted 46 percent of the 7,500 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 39 percent enrolled.
