Cost of college went up for all students at Five Towns College

Tuition and fees rose 8.7 percent for 2018-19 at Five Towns College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

New York students paid $21,280 to attend the four-year private for-profit institution this year – $1,920 more than the $19,360 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 93 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 142 students received grants or scholarships totaling $1.5 million and 85 students took out student loans totaling more than $320,369.

Including all undergraduates (636), 543 students used grants or scholarships totaling $5.1 million, and 396 students took out $2.2 million in federal student loans.
