Cost of college went up for all students at Eastern Suffolk BOCES

Tuition and fees rose 5 percent for 2018-19 at Eastern Suffolk BOCES, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

New York students paid $15,587 to attend the public school this year – $747 more than the $14,840 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 82 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 42 students received grants or scholarships totaling $196,286 and 46 students took out student loans totaling more than $354,459.

Including all undergraduates (272), 217 students used grants or scholarships totaling $1.3 million, and 235 students took out $1.6 million in federal student loans.
