SUFFOLK COUNTY: COVID-19 CASE UPDATE - September 13, 2020, 5:30 p.m.

Suffolk County issued the following announcement on Sept. 13.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on September 13, 2020. Last Updated September 12, 2020.

Total Persons Tested

  • 729,012  COVID-19 tests have been administered, an addition of 6,000 tests        
  • 6.3 percent of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 1.2 percent of those tested on Long Island in the last reported 24-hour period tested positive for COVID-19
  • 1.1  percent of those tested in Suffolk County in the last reported 24-hour period tested positive for COVID-19
Tested Positive for COVID-19

  • 45,683 total cases
  • 68 new cases
Antibody Testing

  • 256,869 total were tested for antibodies
  • 27,360 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies
Fatalities

  • 1 fatality
  • 2,009 total fatalities
Hospitalization numbers from September 12

  • 31  individuals were hospitalized, a decrease of 4 in a 24-hour period
  • 6  patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), an increase of 1
  • 4  new admissions
  • 7 discharges
  • 5,842 discharged since March 22
Hospital Capacity

  • 3,038 hospital beds, 820 available, 27 percent
  • 399 ICU beds, 127 available, 32 percent
