Suffolk County issued the following announcement on Dec. 25.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on December 25, 2020. Last updated December 24, 2020

Data is from December 24

COVID-19 Testing

  • 18,087 COVID-19 tests were administered
  • 1,855,415 total tests have been administered since March
  • 1,270 new cases were reported
  • 87,985 total cases have been reported since March
  • 4.7% of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 6.6% tested positive on Long Island yesterday; 6.5% positive on a 7-day average
  • 7.0% tested positive in Suffolk County yesterday; 7.1% positive on a 7-day average

Antibody Testing

  • 32,255 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 tested positive for antibodies
  • 307,709 in total have been tested for antibodies
Fatalities

  • 10 fatalities
  • 2,236 total fatalities
COVID-19 Hospitalizations data from December 24, 2020

  • 601  individuals were hospitalized, an increase of 4 in 24 hours
  • 76 were new admissions
  • 98 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), an increase of 7 in 24 hours
  • 45 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 73 were discharged since the last report
  • 7,456 have been discharged since March 22
Hospital Capacity

  • 3,204 hospital beds, 861 available, 27 percent
  • 434 ICU beds, 104 available, 24 percent
