Jackson Seifert, a junior at William Floyd High School, has been accepted into the Juilliard Pre-College program. This program is designed for students with the talent and ambition to pursue serious music study at the college level. Jackson, who primarily plays bass and tenor trombone, is also proficient on the trumpet, bass trumpet, and euphonium.

The Juilliard Pre-College program will provide Jackson with the opportunity to work with world-class musicians, many of whom are part of the Juilliard college faculty. The program runs every Saturday from September through May at Juilliard in New York City. Jackson will study privately with Weston Sprott, dean and director of the preparatory division at The Juilliard School and a trombonist with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. His classes will include music theory, ear training, and music history while playing in a brass ensemble and with the pre-college symphony orchestra.

Jackson’s acceptance into this prestigious program follows his submission of three All-State auditions in May for bass trombone, tenor trombone, and bass jazz solo, all of which received perfect scores.

Earlier this summer, Jackson won a scholarship that allowed him to perform a trombone solo with the Northport Community Band during their “Families and Flags on the Fourth” event on Independence Day.

In addition to his musical achievements and academic excellence, Jackson is also a pitcher for the William Floyd varsity baseball team.

Congratulations were extended to Jackson for his accomplishments.
