Students in Ms. Strull’s class displayed their creations for International Dot Day, showcasing dots they designed. Second-grade students from Ms. Strull, Mrs. Mocera, and Ms. Verderosa’s classes at William Floyd Elementary School participated in the event by creating dots using positive and negative space in the school STEM lab with Mrs. Baumiller.

International Dot Day is celebrated on September 15 and is inspired by the book "The Dot" by Peter H. Reynolds. The story encourages children to take on new challenges and maintain a positive attitude. To prepare for the event, students read the book and then worked on designing their dots.

Buddies from Mrs. Elarde’s fourth-grade class and Mrs. DeFelice’s first-grade class at Tangier Smith Elementary School also joined in the celebration of International Dot Day. They collaborated to create artwork starting from a single dot.
