Stony Brook University’s Office of Procurement held its annual Supplier Diversity Fair on September 25. The event was attended by about 30 exhibitors and more than 200 faculty and staff.

The fair introduced minority-owned, women-owned, and service-disabled veteran-owned companies to university staff to help diversify the supplier base and support the local economy. The companies offered a range of goods and services, including IT products and services, architecture and engineering services, medical and scientific lab supplies, promotional supplies, health and wellness services, spreadsheet services, and public speaking services.

“The connections made during the event are the opportunity for these small and local vendors to establish relationships with our faculty and staff, which broaden our network of suppliers and help support our local economy,” said Maria Bracco, MWBE-SDVOB program coordinator in the Office of Procurement.

Anyone interested in more information about the companies that exhibited at the event or next year’s event can contact Bracco at maria.bracco@stonybrook.edu or supplierdiversity@stonybrook.edu
